Regensburg and Nuremberg

Merry Christmas!

Kelli and I arrived in Prague today and have so far fallen completely in love with the city! However this is a blog on our time in in Regensburg and Nuremberg.

Regensburg

After Munich Kelli, Anna, and I headed off to Regensburg for three days to enjoy some more christmas markets! Regensburg was a lovely break after our busy time in Munich and our hectic end to the semester we spent the days sleeping in and just enjoying wandering the streets of the sleepy town.

Regensburg is one of the oldest German urban settlements in Germany, and now the historical city center is a listed UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city also has three christmas markets the one in the main square, Lucreziamarkt, where artists and craftsmen set up stalls laden with wonderful handmade wares, and In the courtyard of Thurn & Taxis Palace there is the Romantic Christmas Market.  The Romantic market was probably my favorite as it was lots of handmade, artisan items for sale and the setting of the market was gorgeous!

Nuremberg

After Regensburg Kelli and I said goodbye to Anna and headed up to Nuremberg for more christmas markets and Christmas!

Nuremberg, while infamous for its involvement with the Nazi party and the Nuremberg Trials, also has an incredible old town and one of the biggest christmas markets in Germany.  This was the city Kelli and I choose to spend christmas in and we enjoyed exploring the Market, Wandering the old town, crossing the many bridges of Nuremberg and learning about its involvement in Hitler's plans.

fountain and is about 19m high!
